Pune, 4th June 2021: As several students have not paid their full college fees for the current academic year, the colleges are withholding their examination applications by not sending them to Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU).

The university’s Board of Examination and Evaluation has issued a letter in this regard urging the colleges not to obstruct the students from appearing for the exams. Even after that, the university has received several complaints that the colleges are still withholding examination forms.

The university had announced that it will conduct the second-semester examination for the academic year 2020-21 from June 15 onwards. The forms for the examination are currently being accepted. After students fill out the exam applications, their names and forms appear on the college portals. Colleges are required to check the information in the application and send it to the university.

Due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, many students have not paid their college fees. The colleges have informed that if the students do not pay fees for the academic year, the college administrations will not send exam forms to the university.

After students and parents lodged a complaint with SPPU, Dr Mahesh Kakade, Director of Board of Examination and Evaluation, had ordered the colleges to not withheld examination application forms if the full fees have not been paid. “The exam application forms should be registered immediately and be sent to the university,” he said.

Even four or five days after the order was issued, the students continued to send complaints regarding the issue to the university. The students are now demanding that a separate Google form or email id be made available for making a written complaint.

Yukrand’s vice president Kamlakar Shete said, “Colleges are saying that applications will not be sent to the university without payment of the full fees. This is a serious matter.”
