Corona: Ban International Flights Increased Till March 31, New Guidelines For Cinema Halls To Be Issued; Swimming Will Open For All

New Delhi, 1 March 2021: The guidelines issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs to monitor and prevent the corona epidemic will be in force from today until 31 March.

On Friday, the ministry issued an order to extend the period of the guidelines currently in force till March 31. Along with this, the ministry has also asked states and union territories to give impetus to the corona vaccination campaign.

The ministry said that where there has been a substantial decline in active and new corona cases, there is a need to maintain surveillance, control and caution. The ministry has also asked for strict control measures in the containment zone. In the instructions sent to the States and Union Territories, the Ministry of Home Affairs has said that the guidelines need to be strictly followed.

Restrictions on international flights

On the other hand, DGCA has also extended the ban on international flights till 31 March. In view of Corona in the country, regular international flight operations were suspended from 23 March last year. According to the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), the circular issued on 26 June 2020 has been extended by 23.59 hrs on March 31, 2021, by a partial amendment to the circular issued. However, passenger flights will continue on select routes during this period. Also, the ban on cargo flights will not apply.

New SOP will be released for cinema hall

As per the existing guidelines, cinema halls and theaters are allowed to operate with more people. The cinema hall has already been allowed to use up to 50 percent of its seating capacity. They will now be allowed to operate at full capacity, for which a revised SOP will be issued by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.

Permission will be given for swimming pool

The guidelines state that swimming pools have already been permitted for the use of sports. Swimming pools will now be allowed for everyone to use, for which a revised SOP will be issued by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports in consultation with the Ministry.

No restriction on movement

There is no restriction on the movement of goods from one state to another and for cross-border trade. This will not require separate permission or e-permit. Activities outside the containment zone have been allowed, except in some places. Social, religious, sports, entertainment, educational, cultural, religious ceremonies have been allowed up to a maximum of 50 percent of the hall’s capacity. Now such meetings will be subjected to the SOP of the respective state.
