However, Municipal Commissioner Vikram Kumar sent these messages accidentally. A rectification letter will be issued by the administration soon.

The Maharashtra State Government has decided to cancel the 40 percent income tax exemption of the Pune Municipal Corporation. The Municipal Corporation has decided to withdraw the 40 percent discount from citizens who have two flats or have a tenant. The report was accepted though there were many errors in the survey conducted by the two organizations.

According to the report, a 40 percent discount was taken for 97 thousand flat holders. Three months ago, 33,000 people were sent the difference amount of three years from 2019 to 2022. A message was sent to 60,000 people about the difference amount on Monday (22nd). Citizens have expressed their anger against this as even after paying regular taxes, thousands of rupees of arrears are being collected. Some people have also complained to Commissioner Vikram Kumar against it. The BJP has given a statement to Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis to improve the levy of property tax.

Talking to the reporters, the Commissioner said, “The messages sent to the citizens to pay the difference amount of property tax were sent by mistake (technical error). Citizens do not need to pay. A correction letter will be drawn from the administration in this regard.”

Former House Leader Ganesh Bidkar said, “Punekars are facing hardship due to cancellation of 40% discount in mill tax. Remarks in this regard have been given to Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, and it has been demanded that this concession should be maintained. Fadnavis has said that he will hold a meeting in this regard after the end of the session. Meanwhile, a petition will also be filed in the court against the municipal administration in this matter.”

The municipal administration has determined the amount of each income by generating online bills. Therefore, if you don’t pay this seemingly insignificant amount, you may face multiple fines in the future. Therefore, this amount appearing in the bill must also be reduced after the rectification is done.
