New Delhi, 1st March 2022: The European Parliament has approved the application after Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky requested to join the European Union (EU).

President Volodymyr Zelensky on Monday applied for Ukraine’s accession to the European Union. Now a special admission process has been introduced in the European Parliament to allow Ukraine to join the European Union. Parliament will vote on the proposal to include Ukraine in the European Union.

Earlier on Tuesday, Volodymyr Zelensky said in an address to the European Parliament that “Ukraine was fighting to become an equal member of Europe. “We are also fighting to be an equal member of Europe.”

Zelensky said, “I believe that today we are showing everyone what we are … we have proved that, at least, we are just like you.”

He said on Monday that Kyiv was not ready to relax “when one side is targeting the other with rockets and weapons.”
