From Pension Scheme to Life Certificate: Key Deadlines End on November 30
Delhi, 24th November 2025: With only a few days left in November, several important deadlines for central government employees, taxpayers, and pensioners are set to expire on 30 November 2025. These include choosing the Unified Pension Scheme (UPS), submitting tax-related statements, and filing life certificates. In addition, the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) is considering changes to Aadhaar card rules.
Deadline for Unified Pension Scheme (UPS)
The Ministry of Finance has set 30 November as the last date for central government employees to opt for the Unified Pension Scheme (UPS). The deadline was initially 30 September but was later extended. UPS is distinct from the National Pension Scheme (NPS), and all employees must complete their selection by the specified date.
Deadlines for Tax-Related Filings
Several tax compliance deadlines also fall on 30 November:
Submission of TDS statements for October 2025 under Sections 194-IA, 194-IB, 194M, and 194S.
Filing of reports under Section 92E for applicable taxpayers.
Submission of Form 3CEAA for constituent entities of international groups.
Deadline for Submitting Life Certificate
Pensioners must submit their Life Certificate (Jeevan Pramaan Patra) by 30 November 2025. Families with pensioners are advised to ensure this is completed to avoid any disruption in pension disbursement.
Other Updates
Oil marketing companies may revise LPG cylinder prices from 1 December.
UIDAI is considering changes to the Aadhaar card, under which the physical card may display only a photograph and QR code, with all other details accessible online.
Citizens are urged to complete these tasks on time to avoid penalties or disruptions in services.
