IMD Predicts Light Rain In Pune On Gudi Padwa On Tuesday

Pune, 11th April 2021: Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), Pune has predicted light to very light rain on Gudi Padwa which falls on April 13.

Anupam Kashyapi, weather department head while explaining the current weather system over the country said that the Pune is likely to receive rain on April 13 and 14 due to the trough formed over Madhya Pradesh extending upto south of Tamil Nadu.

He said the maximum temperature in the city during this time will hover between 38 to 40 degree Celsius while the minimum would be 20 degree Celsius. He also said that the sky will remain partly cloudy with chances of thundering activity from April 12 onwards.

Kashyapi said that the possibility of hail cannot be ruled out in Vidarbha in the next 48 hours. The winds will blow at 30 to 40 km/hr. Similarly, lightning would be there in Central Maharashtra and Marathwada region too. Isolated regions of the state will receive rain”, he added.

For the next four-five days, there will be lightning and thundering activity. Likewise, from April 11 onwards gusty winds will blow.

The presence of trough is seen 74 and 32 latitude north of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. Similarly, the upper air circulation on the south of Madhya Pradesh with trough line going upto Vidarbha to the south of Tamil Nadu.

It will destabilise the weather in the state of Maharashtra as the trough over TN will govern the weather. The wind discontinuity over southern Maharashtra and elongation of trough line and wind discontinuity will destabilise the weather in Central and southern Maharashtra and four meteorological sub-divisions including Central Maharashtra, Vidharbha, Marathwada and Konkan and Goa.
