Pune (India), 21.01.2021: Paving the way in developing green energy solutions for the world, Pune based Clean Tech startup & India’s Multi-National Fuel Cell company h2e Power delivers its 2021 promise. h2e launches their Climate Change Vaccine Plan with the commencement of operations at their pilot production facility that can generate electrolysers to produce Green Hydrogen / e-Fuels and SOFC hybrid power generators at their Pune facility today. h2e’s Climate Change Vaccine Plan, official website and the plant’s production facility was inaugurated in the presence of the Consul General of Germany Mr. Jürgen Morhard, thereby further strengthening Indo-German ties in Clean tech and Green Hydrogen ecosystem.

With a portfolio of clean energy solutions, the new pilot facility will produce SOFC (Solid Oxide Fuel Cells) Power Generators & SOEC (Solid Oxide Electrolyser) for production of Green Hydrogen & Other e-Fuels, with a initial capacity of 2MW per annum, and is building a greenfield manufacturing facility with a capacity of 100MW per annum in Manjari near Pune, which will be state-of-art and one of the largest facilities in the world. Catering to the fast-growing Green Hydrogen, clean & reliable power generator market in India and across the world, h2e’s increased production capacity and extensive product portfolio is well-suited to accomplish the vision of building a NetZero world.

Speaking about the development, Founder & Managing Director of h2e Power, Siddharth R. Mayur said, “2021 brings with it renewed hope among the people of the world. Some of the biggest learnings from the past year have led us to push further and bring about global impact with sustainable solutions for a clean and green environment. With that thought, we are launching the h2e Climate Change Vaccine plan, with which we aim to bring impactful change via clean and green energy solutions for enterprises of all scales. Bolstering our ties with nations and institutes across the world, we aim to commercialise our solutions across the globe in 2021, thus making a foundation for higher volumes in the next few years, thereby reducing their carbon footprint drastically. He further added that h2e with its base in Pune, Switzerland, Germany and USA aims to provide localized solutions, while creating meaningful employment, h2e’s vision is greatly influenced by the ‘Atmanirbhatra’ call of our Honorable Prime Minister.”

Congratulating Mr. Mayur and his team at h2e, Mr. Jüergen Morhard, the Consul General of German Consulate in Mumbai said, “Realizing the vision of building a NetZero world, Adar Poonawalla backed h2e is the only home-grown Fuel Cell & Green Hydrogen multi-national company with manufacturing facilities in Winterthur (Switzerland), Konstanz (Germany), Dresden (Germany) and Pune (India). The partnership between h2e and Germany began with Fraunhofer Institute and now has solid foundation to introduce clean energy products to Indian markets and also serve the German and EU markets. h2e is a perfect example of a successful cooperation of German Engineering strength being adopted to Indian conditions to develop solutions that have a high social impact, we really need change leaders like Mr. Mayur to bring innovative technologies to market. The world needs such collaborations to fight the scare of climate crises.

About Solid oxide fuel cells (SOFC) are a type of fuel cells which uses a solid oxide electrolyte to conduct negative oxygen ions from the cathode to the anode. The electrochemical oxidation of the oxygen ions with hydrogen or carbon monoxide thus occurs on the anode side. They operate at very high temperatures, typically between 700 and 900°C. Because of the high temperature applications with higher heat circuit temperatures are possible. SOFCs operated in reverse mode acts like a electrolyzer to produce Green hydrogen & e-Fuels. The technology is robust, reversable clean power generators and have a wide variety of residential, industrial & commercial applications with outputs from few Watts to MW.
