Maharashtra: 46,393 New Covid-19 Positive Cases, 416 Omicron Patients Reported Today

Mumbai, 22nd January 2022: 46,393 new Covid-19 Postive cases registered in the Maharashtra today while 30,795 patients discharged today; 70,40,618 COVID-19 patients discharged after full recovery until today. The Recovery rate in the state is 94.3%. 48 COVID-19 deaths reported in the state today. Case fatality rate is the state is 1.9%.

Out of 7,31,74,656 laboratory samples 74,66,420 have been tested positive (10.2%) for COVID-19 until today.

Currently 21,86,124 people are in home quarantine and 3,382 people are in institutional quarantine.

Omicron surveillance related information:-

Today, 416 patients with Omicron infection have been reported in the state. Out of these, 320 are reported by Kasturba Hospital Laboratory while remaining are reported by NIV, Pune.

Till date, a total of 2759 patients infected with Omicron variant have been reported in the state.

Out of these, 1225 cases have been discharged following a negative RT PCR test.

The details of international passengers arriving at Mumbai, Pune and Nagpur airports from 1st December till today morning.

Additionally, field surveillance of all international passengers who have arrived since 1st November is underway. Through airport and field surveillance, 6090 samples have been sent for genomic sequencing. Results of 103 are awaited so far.
