Maharashtra: Lockdown Extended Till 8 March In Amravati, Decision Due To Rising Cases Of Corona

Maharashtra, February 27, 2021: The lockdown has been extended till March 8 in Maharashtra’s Amravati district. Earlier, it was decided that the lockdown in the district will be enforced till March 1. However, due to the non-stop increase of Corona cases, a decision has been taken to further extend the lockdown. Apart from this, the lockdown has been extended in Akola, Akot, and Murjitapur. District administration officials said that the situation would be reviewed on 5 and 6 March. A decision will then be taken on whether or not to implement the lockdown in the future. The second wave of Corona virus has raised concerns across the country. More than 16 thousand cases have been reported in the last 24 hours. It is for the third consecutive day, that more than 16 thousand new cases of Corona have been reported.

The number of Corona virus cases in the country has increased to 11,079,979. Along with this, the Ministry of Health has extended the guidelines for dealing with Corona infection till 31 March. The Health Ministry said on Saturday morning that 16,488 new cases of Corona infection have been reported across the country in the last 24 hours. Following America, India is the second country where such a huge amount of Corona cases have been reported. Meanwhile, the second wave of Corona virus has raised concerns in India. Maharashtra in particular seems to be the center of Corona.

More than 8,000 cases of Corona have been reported in Maharashtra for the third consecutive day. Apart from this, more than 1,000 new cases have also been found in Mumbai. Apart from Maharashtra, states like Kerala, Chhattisgarh, Punjab, and Madhya Pradesh have also raised concerns regarding Corona. More than 3,600 new Corona cases have been found in Kerala. Maharashtra currently has the highest number of Corona cases across the country. Kerala is second following Maharashtra closely. Due to the increasing cases of Corona, strictness has been increased in areas like Nagpur, Amravati. The Corona crisis has increased especially in places like the Vidarbha of Maharashtra.
