More Than 36,000 People Without Tickets Fined By Pune Railway Division In April, Rs 2.47 Crore Fine Collected

Pune, 5th May 2022: During the ticket checking by Pune Railway Division in the month of April, a total of 36,579 people traveling without tickets were fined and the fine collected was more than Rs 2 crore 47 lakh 48 thousand.

According to the Divisional Railway Manager Office, a fine of Rs 46,629 was imposed while a fine of Rs 32,755 has been recovered from 273 people for carrying unbooked goods. In the month of April this year, 36953 passengers were found to be traveling without tickets and found traveling irregularly. The fine collected from them is more than Rs 2 crore 48 lakh 27 thousand. This is the highest monthly collection made by the Pune Railway Division.

The action was taken under the guidance of Divisional Railway Manager Renu Sharma and supervision of Additional Divisional Railway Manager Brijesh Kumar Singh, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Dr. Milind Hirve, Divisional Commercial Manager Shyam Kulkarni, Assistant Commercial Manager SVN Subhash. The ticket checking was carried out with the help of inspectors and the Railway Protection Force. The ticket checking is run regularly by the railway administration.

The railway authorities appeal to the passengers that one should travel only by taking proper tickets. Only passengers with confirmed tickets are allowed to travel, so they should have proper tickets. Otherwise, they will have to pay a fine under the Railway Act and in case of non-payment, they can also be jailed.
