Re-Emergence Of Corona Patients In Pune; District Administration Wants To Increase Corona Tests

Pune, 4th May 2022: In the last few months, the coronavirus cases have been under control in Pune and Maharashtra. The graph of corona patients had also dropped. But now, once again, there is an increase in the number of corona patients in Pune, Mumbai and some other districts of the state. As the number of corona patients is increasing, the district administration has instructed to increase corona tests as a precautionary measure as per the instructions of the state government.

Instructions have also been given to survey fever patients in rural areas of the Pune district. If three to seven corona patients are found in one place, their genome sequencing should be done. For this, samples of the Corona infected patients will be sent to B.J. Government Medical College. Although the number of admitted and critically ill patients in the district is low at present, it has been observed that it is increasing rapidly.

Against this backdrop, Chief Minister of Maharashtra Uddhav Thackeray recently held a meeting with the Divisional Commissioner and the District Collector through a video conferencing system. Corona’s condition was reviewed at the time. Accordingly, the district collector and Zilla Parishad CEO Ayush Prasad have instructed the district health department to remain vigilant.

Instructions have been given by the state government to complete the first and second dose of Covid vaccine for the students in the age group of 12 to 14 years in Pune district within the next seven days. For this, vaccination sessions will be organized in schools. Along with this, the state government also ordered to complete the vaccination of children in the age group of 14 to 18 in the next seven days.
