Pune/Mumbai, 3rd April 2024: Travellers traversing the Mumbai-Pune Expressway should anticipate a brief disruption in traffic on both April 3 and April 4, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM.

The Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) is installing a gantry at the 93/900 kilometer mark on the expressway, for the Highway Traffic Management System deployed on both the Pune and Mumbai lanes.

To facilitate the smooth installation of the gantry, traffic in both directions, accommodating both light and heavy vehicles, will be temporarily halted on the expressway. Motorists are advised to explore alternative routes during this period.

For those travelling from Pune to Mumbai in light vehicles, the recommended diversion will be through the National Highway no. 48, following the traditional old Pune-Mumbai route.

All vehicle categories will be rerouted via the Kiwale Bridge, directing traffic through the Old Pune-Mumbai Highway. Vehicles travelling from Mumbai to Pune will be redirected to Kusgaon toll naka 55.000 km (Lonavala exit) towards the Old Pune-Mumbai Highway, leading to Pune.

These diversions have been implemented to ensure the safety and efficacy of the gantry installation process. Commuters are encouraged to plan their travels accordingly to mitigate any inconvenience.
