Now Pensioners Can Generate Life Certificates At Their Doorsteps

Pune, November 7, 2020: Cutting the process of long queues, pensioners can now get their Jeevan Praman, life certificate, an Aadhaar-based biometric-enabled digital life certificate through post offices and at their doorstep. This facility has been started from 1st November 2020 through the post office.

The post office has provided smartphones and biometric machines to all postmen. After the postman comes home, it will be possible to register a digital life certificate through a mobile app for a fee of Rs 70.

“This facility is being provided through India Post Payment Bank of Postal Department. Pensioners can avail this facility by downloading the Postinfo app on their mobile phones”, said Rajganesh Ghumare Superintendent Post office, Pune rural division.

Aadhaar number, mobile number, registration of the Aadhaar number with Pension Disbursing Agency (Bank/Post office etc.), Sanctioning Authority, Type of Pension Disbursing Agency, PPO Number and Account Number (pension) will be required to avail this facility.
