Pune, February 15, 2021: It’s just not stopping. The daily price rise of petrol and diesel is breaking the back of common people in Maharashtra more as compared to other states because here petrol is expensive by Rs 10 more than other states in the country. The diesel too is comparatively more expensive than neighbouring states.

Ali Daruwala, the spokesperson of the All India Petrol Dealers Association (AIPDA), told Punekarnews.in, “I guess the state government is in no position to give any relief to the common people as the treasuries of the state are empty and the lockdown for several months has made the matters worse for the citizens in Maharashtra.”

Today, petrol was priced at Rs 95.10 per litre while Power was being sold at Rs 98.78 per litre. Diesel is priced at Rs 84.68 per litre and CNG is being sold for Rs 55.50 per kg.

“The request to push the prices of petroleum products in the ambit of GST will only save us from the cascading effect of price rise. And for the centre, the reduction in excise is the only option to extend relief to citizens of India”, Daruwala said.
