Pimpri Chinchwad CP Choubey Leads Discussion on Traffic Issues and Industrial Challenges in Chakan

Chakan, 8th October 2024: A traffic coordination meeting regarding the traffic issues in the Chakan MIDC area was held in the presence of Pimpri Chinchwad Commissioner of Police Vinoy Kumar Choubey. During the review meeting on August 1, progress on the implementation of previously decided remedial measures was assessed. Additionally, plans for new parking spaces for heavy vehicles were discussed for future implementation.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Bapu Bangar, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 3) Dr Shivaji Pawar, Assistant Commissioner of Police (Chakan Division) Rajendra Singh Gaur, Assistant Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Anil Koli, Executive Engineer of MIDC Satish Chaudekar, Pimpri Chinchwad Regional Transport Officer Sandesh Chavan, Deputy Engineer of NHAI Dilip Shinde, Assistant Labour Commissioner of Mathadi Board Nikhil Walke, Naib Tehsildar Khed Ram Bije, PMRDA Section Engineer Jitendra Pagar, Senior Police Inspector Nitin Gite in charge of Mahalunge MIDC Police Station, Anti-Extortion Squad in charge Senior Police Inspector Devendra Chavan, Senior Police Inspector in charge of Chakan Police Station Pramod Wagh, and Senior Police Inspector Digambar Suryawanshi in charge of the Social Security Cell.
After the meeting on traffic issues, another session was held to address challenges faced by companies, Mathadi workers, and other concerns. Key topics discussed included road conditions, daily traffic jams, parking for heavy vehicles, and waste management. Information was provided on the remedial plans currently in place and plans to address these issues.
CP Vinoy Kumar Choubey stated, “In 2023, Mahalunge MIDC Police Station was established specifically for the industrial area within the Pimpri Chinchwad Police Commissionerate. The station is staffed with two police inspectors, six officers, and a total of 107 police constables. When citizens dial 112, police assistance typically reaches them within 5 to 6 minutes. Individuals in the industrial sector should make full use of this service and help spread awareness.”
An Industrial Grievance Cell has been set up within the Anti-Extortion Squad of the PCPC’s Crime Branch to promptly address industrial complaints. Strict measures have been taken under the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) of 1999 against 39 gangsters, while preventive actions under the Maharashtra Prevention of Dangerous Activities Act (MPDA) of 1981 have been initiated against five others, with 26 individuals exiled from Pune District limits.
Companies are advised to install high-definition CCTV cameras with a 30-day storage capacity and to provide external parking for employees. The police will offer immediate assistance to management facing issues with gangsters, unions, or disruptive workers, with strict action to be taken against those causing disturbances in MIDC areas.
