Pune, 21st November 2022: In the first phase, 500 identity cards will be distributed to the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) employees. This process will be completed in the next two to three days, and after that identity cards will be distributed as per availability. Meanwhile, the closed biometric system has also been started by the municipal administration.

However, biometric attendance, which was closed during the Covid-19 pandemic, was restarted by the municipal administration for the presence of municipal employees. The administration has linked biometric attendance with Aadhaar for municipal servants. Therefore, the administration is getting information about what time the employee came to work and whether the working hours were completed or not.

This computer system was shut down during the Covid-19 pandemic. As the coronavirus has been brought under control, the work of the municipal corporation has started at full capacity, and the attendance of the employees is also 100 per cent.

Therefore, Additional Commissioner Ravindra Binwade ordered that employees register their attendance using biometrics. But there was no response from the staff. Therefore, Binawade had ordered that salary will not be paid if attendance is not done by the biometric method.

A computerized system has been developed to record the attendance of employees. Under it, the process of giving smart identity cards has been started. The new identity card will save the time of the employees. Employees will not need to enter their Aadhaar numbers.
