Pune: Amhi Shirurkar Mitra Parivar Foundation President Calls For Unity Behind Vadgaonsheri’s MLA Sunil Tingre

Vadgaonsheri, 16th November 2024: In a passionate plea for transformation, Bala Parhad, President of the Amhi Shirurkar Mitra Parivar Foundation, has called on the people of Vadgaonsheri to vote for Nationalist Congress Party’s (NCP) sitting MLA Sunil Tingre, the Mahayuti candidate for the Vadgaonsheri Assembly Constituency. Parhad’s message is part of a broader effort to end the climate of fear and oppression that has burdened the area, particularly impacting migrant workers and residents seeking better prospects in education, business, and employment.
Over the years, thousands of families from Ahmednagar district and Shirur taluka have relocated to Vadgaonsheri, Chandan Nagar, and Kharadi in pursuit of a better life in Pune’s thriving urban environment. Despite contributing to the city’s growth, many of these working-class individuals have faced harassment and intimidation from local political figures.
Addressing a gathering in support of Sunil Tingre, Parhad emphasised that these communities deserve to live with dignity and freedom. He acknowledged the difficult conditions under which the residents of these areas have been enduring.
Bala Parhad said, “If you want to eliminate this climate of fear and oppression, and if you wish to live with respect and freedom, the people of Vadgaon Sheri, Kharadi, and Chandannagar must unite behind Sunil Tingre. He is the only leader who has consistently supported social causes and has always stood by ordinary workers, regardless of political divides.”
Parhad also highlighted Tingre’s unwavering commitment to the community. Despite facing political challenges in the 2014 and 2019 elections, Tingre continued to back local social initiatives and advocate for workers’ welfare. Parhad noted that even when political opposition stood against him, Tingre remained a pillar of support for the community.
Parhad further said, “I have worked alongside local leaders for years, but we never received any form of recognition. Sunil Tingre, however, has always been present for the community, offering help without any expectation of return. I have refrained from supporting local leaders out of fear of retaliation against workers and their families. This is the atmosphere of fear that must change.”
The ongoing issues in Vadgaonsheri, Kharadi, and Chandan Nagar—ranging from political pressure to poor working conditions for migrant workers—have left many feeling disheartened. Parhad and the Amhi Shirurkar Mitra Parivar Foundation believe that only a leader like Sunil Tingre can bring about the much-needed changes and address these persistent challenges.
Parhad concluded by urging the residents to support Sunil Tingre in the upcoming election if they wish to rid themselves of the prevailing climate of fear, injustice, and oppression. “If we do not want our workers and families to continue enduring hardship, we need a leader who will advocate for justice, equality, and freedom. Sunil Tingre is that leader,” he asserted.
