Pune: Architecture students make ‘Box Of Hope’ to help doctors treating Corona Patients

Pune, May 24, 2020: Allana College of Architecture student Shreyans Gautam Chordia along with his friend Pravesh Mehta have been able to successfully manufacture and donate their newly introduced and manufactured product- ‘Box of Hope’ that acts as a barrier between doctors and COVID-19 patients and protects our saviours-our doctors from coming in direct contact with infections during treatment.

 

They have donated the same at 6 leading hospitals in Pune-1. Ruby Hall, Deenanath Mangeshkar Hospital, District Hospital, Aundh, Naidu Hospital, Yashwantrao Chavan Memorial Hospital, Chinchwad, Sahyadri Hospital, Deccan. This was their Box of Hope for ensuring the safety of all and expressing gratitude towards the medical fraternity, said Lina Debnath (Principal, Allana College of Architecture). Dhwani Iyer, Professor of college, congratulated students for their initiative.

 

The number of COVID19 patients in Pune district has crossed 5,000 mark. While half of them have been cured and discharged. There are about 2000 active patients still admitted in hospitals. About 250 people have died due to Coronavirus infection. Many nurses and doctors have also got infected. One doctor recently lost his life. ‘Box of Hope’ is expected to provide relief to the medical fraternity.
