Pune: Bal Gandharva Auditorium Reopens After Extensive Renovations

Pune, 29th March 2024: After a hiatus of about one and a half months, the Bal Gandharva Rang Mandir is once again embracing artists and enthusiasts. The theatre resumed operations on Thursday (28th March) afternoon, marking the culmination of extensive refurbishments and renovations.

The stage has undergone a comprehensive transformation, including revamped seating arrangements, fresh paintwork, upgrades to electrical and air-conditioning systems, installation of new chairs, and the addition of red carpets. Notably, even the VIP room within the theatre has been renovated to enhance the overall experience for patrons.

Actors and fans attending the reopening expressed their satisfaction with the improvements, signalling a positive reception to the revamped venue. Previously, there had been numerous complaints from artists and fans alike regarding the inadequate facilities at the Bal Gandharva Ranga Mandir. Consequently, repair work commenced on February 16th to address these concerns.

Rajesh Kamthe, the Manager of Bal Gandharva Rang Mandir, confirmed the completion of maintenance and repair work, leading to the reopening of the theatre following approval from the building department. The inaugural play on Thursday afternoon garnered positive feedback from attendees, affirming the success of the renovation efforts and signalling a promising future for the iconic theatre.
