Pune-Bangalore Highway Turns Into Gridlock After Multi-Vehicle Crash At Khed Shivapur
Khed Shivapur, 11th June 2023: A major traffic accident shook Khed Shivapur in Pune on Sunday morning, leaving seven passengers injured, one of whom is in critical condition. The incident brought the Mumbai and Bangalore lanes to a standstill, causing significant traffic congestion, as confirmed by authorities.
According to police reports, a luxury bus collided with a container that lost control and crashed into a central divider on Pune-Bangalore highway. The speeding container careened onto the Satara lane, colliding with another truck. The abrupt movement of the container led to a subsequent collision involving a truck and the state transport’s Shiv Shahi bus.
The aftermath of the accident unleashed chaos on both sides of the highway. Responding swiftly to the spot, immediate response teams, including police officers and personnel from the Rajgad police station, worked efficiently to transport the injured individuals to nearby hospitals.
The collision inflicted a heavy traffic jam on the Mumbai-Bangalore highway, paralyzing both lanes. To restore the flow of vehicles towards Bangalore and Mumbai, police officers swiftly employed cranes to remove the damaged vehicles from the highway.
