Pune: Bibvewadi Police Station Team Recovers 22 Kg Ganja Worth Rs 5.16 Lakh

Bibvewadi, 18th March 2021: The Detection Branch (DB) of Bibvewadi police station, Pune city police, has seized 22 kg Ganja (marijuana) worth Rs 5.16 lakh from a youth hailing from Osmanabad district.

The arrested accused has been identified as Nisar Modin Jamadar (25), a resident of Loni Kalbhor, who hails from Sindgaon in Tuljapur taluka of Osmanbad district.

A team led by Assistant Police Inspector Rajesh Usgaonkar, in-charge of the DB team, was patrolling on the night of March 16. Around midnight the team came across Jamadar near Aai Mata Mandir near Goyal Garden on Gangadham-Shatrunjai Mandir Road. He was carrying the Ganja in a sack on a motorcycle.

An FIR was registered against the accused for offences under relevant sections of the NDPS Act. He was produced before a court that remanded him to police custody till March 20.

The action was taken under the guidance of DCP (Zone 5) Namrata Patil, ACP (Wanowrie division) Rajendra Galande and Senior Police Inspector Sunil Zavre. The team included Police Inspector (Crime) Anita Hiwarkar, API Rajesh Usgaonkar and police personnel Sham Lohomkar, Amit Pujari, Satish More, Atul Mhangade, Amol Shitole, Tanaji Sagar, Shrikant Kulkarni, Dipak Lodha and Rahul Kothawale.
