Pune: Citizens Voice Concerns and Ideas at Rescheduled Public Dialogue Meeting from PCMC

Pimpri, 21st November 2023: Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation, under the directives of Commissioner and Administrator Shekhar Singh, regularly organizes public meetings on the second and fourth Mondays of each month across all zonal offices. However, this month, due to the festive season of Diwali, the mass communication meeting was rescheduled to the third Monday, held on November 20. Officials appointed as the chairman and chief coordinator of the meeting diligently attended the Municipal Regional Office assigned to them, documenting various issues, problems, complaints, and suggestions related to the Municipal Corporation.

Citizens actively participated in the public dialogue meeting conducted today in the zonal offices of the Municipal Corporation, bringing forth a total of 58 complaints and suggestions. The breakdown of these submissions included 13, 7, 4, 5, 4, 5, 8, and 12 complaints and suggestions from citizens in the A, B, C, D, E, F, G, and H regional offices, respectively.

Key figures present at the meeting included Additional Commissioner Ulhas Jagtap, Chief Coordinating Officer Chandrakant Indalkar, Assistant City Engineer Shrikant Sawane, Manoj Sethia, Sanjay Kulkarni, Pramod Ombhase, Ajay Charthankar, and Vijaykumar Saranaik. Regional officers Suchita Pansare, Amit Pandit, Anna Bodde, Kiran More, Rajesh Agle, Sitaram Bahure, and Umesh Dhakne also attended the session.

Citizens brought forth a range of concerns and suggestions during the public dialogue meeting. Prominent topics included recommendations for combating air pollution in the city and effective planning to manage increasing traffic. Attendees also emphasized the need for regulating stray dogs, imposing penalties on those littering in public spaces, expediting pothole filling, and regular insecticide spraying in the city area.

The Corporation officials assured citizens that their grievances and suggestions would be thoroughly reviewed, and appropriate actions would be taken to address the concerns raised during the meeting. The public dialogue serves as a vital platform for fostering community engagement and ensuring that the municipal administration remains responsive to the needs and aspirations of the citizens.
