Pune District Administration Launches ‘Ashadhi Wari 2023’ App for Essential Information
Pune, 10th June 2023: The district administration has developed a dedicated mobile app called ‘Ashadhi Wari 2023’ to provide essential information about the pilgrimage. The app offers comprehensive details regarding the wari, including health services, water availability, and electricity facilities.
The app was initially introduced in 2017 under the guidance of the then Collector, Saurabh Rao, to disseminate important information to the people. It serves as a one-stop platform, providing users with information such as the schedule of the palanquins carrying the revered Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj and Sant Tukaram Maharaj, village-wise maps, live darshan of Shri Vitthal in Pandharpur, contact numbers of palanquin trustees, chiefs, and senior officials from various departments.
Furthermore, the app includes contact information for Taluka Health Officers, Mobile Medical Teams, Government Hospitals, Medical Officers, Primary Health Centre staff, and private medical professionals. It also provides details about water facilities, including contact numbers for authorities responsible for tanker facilities along the route, food supply and distribution, electricity services, and livestock support.
The ‘Ashadhi Wari 2023’ app is available for download on the Google Play Store. Users are encouraged to install the app and in case of any issues, they can contact the respective officers for assistance.
To address concerns related to missing individuals during the Dindi procession, the app features an option called ‘Aapan Yana Pahilat Ka?’ (Have You Seen him/her?). This enables efforts to locate the person.
Vitthal Banote, the Disaster Management Officer, stated that devotees can also register complaints through the app if they encounter any inconvenience or issues.
For those who are unable to use the app, two thousand copies of a brochure containing contact numbers and other details of the officials involved in the planning of the palkhi ceremony have been printed and will be distributed as an alternative solution.
The ‘Ashadhi Wari 2023’ app and the brochure aim to provide a seamless and convenient experience for the participants of the pilgrimage, ensuring they have access to vital information and support throughout the event.
