Pune: Election Commission Gives Training To 3,000 Trainees For Voting Day

Chinchwad, 19th February 2023: Voting for the Pimpri-Chinchwad by-election will be held on Sunday (26th February) and the Election Commission is rehearsing hard for its planning. Second phase training and guidance were given to around 3,000 trainees such as Sector Officers, Voting Station Presidents, Voting Officers, and Assistants appointed for election-related work.

The training session was held at Ramakrishna More Auditorium. In the special presence of Election Inspector S Satyanarayan, Municipal Corporation Deputy Commissioner Vitthal Joshi and Chinchwad Assembly Election Decision Officer Sachin Dhole gave detailed training to the trainees about the actual work to be done on the voting day. A total of three phases of training have been done. The first stage of it was held on Sunday (12th February).

Assistant Election Decision Officer Ajit Patil, Shirish Poredi, Nodal Officer of Media Room Kiran Prashant Shimpi, Thomas Noronha, Coordinator of EVM Machine Management Room Bapu Gaikwad, Coordinator of Postal Voting Room Rajesh Agle, Expert Officer of BHEL Electronics Ganesh Kushwah, etc were present on this occasion.

The training, which was conducted in two sessions, provided detailed information about the voting process. To ensure that no mistakes are made while conducting all the election-related processes, officers and employees are being trained from time to time as per the guidelines laid down by the Election Commission.

The training conducted today included mandatory items to be done on a priority basis during actual voting, technical aspects regarding the handling of voting machines, and ensuring that all machines are functioning smoothly while carrying out the voting process on polling day. Conducting mock polls before the actual voting in front of candidates’ representatives before the process begins.

PCMC Deputy Commissioner Vitthal Joshi gave training in easy and simple language. In this, he explained to everyone the experience of the actual election work and the seriousness of the election work. Sector Officer Kiran Andure gave detailed information about various units. The details of how to fill in the necessary information in accordance with the voting process were explained through a computerized presentation. Election Returning Officer Sachin Dhole directed that all officers should carry out their duties properly for the smooth conduct of the election process.
