Navratri Festival Preparations Begin at Chatushrungi Temple

Pune, 19th September 2025: The Chatushrungi Temple Trust announced on Friday that this year’s Sharadiya Navratri festival will be celebrated with great fervor from September 22 to October 2.

The details were shared during a press conference held at the temple premises by Industrial Director of the Trust, Shrikant Angal, in the presence of trustees Nandkumar Angal, Narendra Angal, Suhas Sadashiv, Suhas Prabhakar, and members of the media.

Trustee Nandkumar Angal informed that the festivities will commence on September 22 at 8:30 am with the Ghatasthapana ritual, to be performed by Temple Manager Ravindra Angal. The rituals will include Mangalsnan, Panchamrut, Rudrabhishek, and the Shodashopchar Mahapuja, followed by the offering of the Mahavastra. The ceremonies will be conducted by priest Shriram Narayan Kande.

To ensure smooth management during the 10-day festival, elaborate security arrangements have been made with the deployment of police personnel, volunteers, and paramilitary forces. For the well-being of devotees, the Trust will provide a cardiac ambulance, round-the-clock services of four doctors, and medical support staff. In addition, the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) will conduct its campaign ‘Swasth Naari, Sashakt Parivaar’ offering free healthcare services, Executive Trustee Narendra Angal announced.

Highlights of the Navratri Festival at Chatushrungi Temple:

Maha Aarti daily at 10 am and 8 pm

Traditional musical instruments and ceremonial Shankhnaad

Navchandi Hom on October 1 at 7 pm

Simollanghan Palkhi Procession on Dussehra, October 2

The Chatushrungi Temple, one of Pune’s most prominent spiritual landmarks, is expected to witness a large turnout of devotees during the festival.
