Pune, 21st December 2022: Right-to-information (RTI) activist Pradip Naik has asked the Union Home Minister Amit Shah and the State Home Department to ask the National Investigation Agency (NIA) to look into RTI activist Satish Shetty’s murder case.

In the statement, he said that Shetty made people aware of the Right to Information Act of 2005 and how to use it in the Pune and Maval areas. Through this law, he attempted to bring about justice for many people.

He attempted to highlight the alleged misappropriation of land in the Maval area. In the early hours of January 13, 2010, while he was going for a walk, he was stabbed to death with sharp weapons. Twelve years have passed since his death. The Central Bureau of Investigation’s (CBI) Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) were entrusted with the investigation of this murder, but nothing concrete was discovered. As a result, Naik has demanded that the Central Home Ministry pay special attention to this, reopen the case, and delegate the NIA’s investigation.

After the murder case was opened twice, the Satish Shetty murder case file was closed again only because of the inconsistency of evidence.
