Pune: Organ Donation From Brain-Dead Man Saves Three Lives In Pimpri Chinchwad
Pimpri, 23rd September 2023: A 53-year-old man, declared brain-dead at Dr DY Patil Hospital, became a life-saver for three individuals after his family chose to donate his organs. The recipients are reportedly in improving health conditions.
Despite the medical team’s best efforts, the man’s condition worsened, leading to a diagnosis of brain death. Following counseling about organ donation, the family consented to donate his organs, thereby saving three lives.
The organ transplants were conducted at DPU Private Super Specialty Hospital.
Dr. Vrushali Patil expressed gratitude towards the family, stating, “I am grateful to the family members of the brain-dead person for donating his organs and saving the lives of three persons. The lives of many people have been saved because of the humane gesture of the family members. The health of the three persons is improving.”
The selfless act by the family of the deceased has not only given a new lease of life to three individuals but also serves as an inspiring example of the impact organ donation can have.
