Pune, 8th November 2023: The Pune Municipal Corporation’s Aviation Gallery in the Shivaji Nagar Gaothan area, which had been closed for the past one and a half years due to technical reasons and the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, is set to reopen. The gallery was initially inaugurated by the Municipal Corporation in March 2020 but had to be closed because of the pandemic.

The Municipal Corporation is now taking steps to reopen the Aviation Gallery. The proposal to reopen it has been approved, and the tendering process for running the gallery and its maintenance work has begun. Several organizations have shown interest, and the tender process started on November 6, with tenders scheduled to be opened on November 17.

The organization that complies with the terms and conditions set by the Municipal Corporation will be selected to manage and maintain the Aviation Gallery. Once the tender process is completed, it will take an additional 15 to 20 days to finalize the arrangements, after which the gallery will be reopened. The gallery offers an opportunity for children to learn about aviation and see models of aircraft from around the world.
