Pune: Police Commissioner Retesh Kumaarr Orders Action Against Tadiwala Road Gang Under MOCCA

Pune, 6th August 2023: Police Commissioner Retesh Kumaarr has authorized the use of the Maharashtra Control of Organized Crime Act (MOCCA) against a menacing gang that has been causing terror in the Tadiwala Road area near Pune Station. This marks the 44th instance of police action against gang-related activities under Kumaarr’s tenure as Police Commissioner.

Three members of the gang have been apprehended: Sangharsh alias Bhavya Nitin Adsul (21 years old), Sahil Raju Waghmare alias Kharkhar Sonya (22 years old), and Atul Shripad Mhaskar alias Sonu Parmar (22 years old, residing at Tadiwala Road, Pune Station).

These individuals were involved in a violent assault on a young man last month, resulting in his serious injuries. Adsul, along with his accomplices Waghmare and Mhaskar, were taken into custody in connection with the incident. Aadsul, Waghmare, and Mhaskar are facing charges in four serious crime cases.

Operating as a gang in the Tadiwala Road area, they spread fear and intimidation. The proposal for action against this gang was prepared by Senior Inspector Santosh Sonwane of Bundagarden Police Station. The proposal received approval from Additional Commissioner Praveen Kumar Patil and DCP (Zone 2) Smartana Patil.

Following a thorough review of the proposal, the Commissioner of Police ordered decisive action against the Adsul gang.
