Pune, 28th March 2025: Pune Police have written to the Maharashtra Medical Council requesting the cancellation of medical licenses for Dr. Ajay Taware and Shrihari Halnor, both associated with Sassoon General Hospital. The two doctors were arrested for allegedly tampering with blood samples in the high-profile Porsche accident case in Kalyaninagar.

According to the police chargesheet, the doctors, along with police personnel, had allegedly assisted the accused in the case. The crime branch later arrested the two doctors and a peon in connection with the matter.

The investigation revealed that the blood sample taken for testing after the crash did not belong to the minor driver but was instead swapped with his mother’s sample. Following their involvement in the case, Dr. Taware and Halnor were taken into custody and have remained in jail for the past ten months. Pune Police have now formally requested the Maharashtra Medical Council to revoke their licenses.

In addition to action against the doctors, Pune Police have also recommended the dismissal of two officers who were stationed at Yerawada Police Station at the time of the accident. Both officers were previously suspended on charges of dereliction of duty, and after a departmental inquiry found them guilty, a proposal for their removal has been sent to the Office of the Director General of Police.
