Pune Ring Road Project: Villagers Oppose Land Acquisition, Protest On Monday At Khed–Shivapur
Pune, 6th June 2021: The villagers in the Khed-Shivapur area have warned that they will hold a strike on Monday (7th June) to oppose the land acquisition for the Pune ring road project. The Maharashtra State Road Development (MSRDC) has notified about the land acquisition for the project.
Around 650 acres of land will be acquired in the Khed-Shivapur area by the MSRDC for the ring road project and notices have already been issued to the villagers to register their oppositions and suggestions.
The villagers have submitted their opposition to the sub-divisional officer. “This project will not only affect the environment but will also have an adverse effect on the livelihood of the villagers. Many villagers will be participating in this strike”, they said.
