Pune Traffic Policeman, Autorickshaw Driver Turn Angels For Minor Girl Battling Death After Road Accident

Warje, 28th April 2022: A family from Kothrud was seriously injured after their car got sandwiched between two trucks on the Pune-Bengaluru highway. However, a minor girl’s life was saved due to the promptness of Pune police traffic branch’s Police Naik Sameer Bagsiraj and autorickshaw driver Ram Navale.

According to police, techie Manoj Puranik, his wife and two minor daughters were injured in the accident. The accident took place around 10.30 am on April 14 near Swarna hotel in Warje. Puranik’s car was heading towards Ambegaon when a truck driver hit the vehicle from behind and the car collided with another truck in front.

Puranik’s eight-year-old daughter was seriously injured and was bleeding profusely. Policeman Bagsiraj who was regulating traffic in the area, reached the spot soon. He lifted the girl and rushed towards a nearby Mai Mangeshkar hospital. After some distance, he boarded the autorickshaw of Navale and soon reached the hospital. The timely treatment saved the girl, said officials.

Commissioner of Police Amitabh Gupta and DCP (traffic) Rahul Shrirame have lauded the efforts of Bagsiraj and Navale.

Policeman Bagsiraj said, “Due to the accident, it was not possible to reach the injured in the ambulance on time. So I decided to carry the seriously injured girl on my shoulder and soon got help from autorickshaw driver Navale.”
