RPF Pune Rescues 8 Minors From Pune Railway Station
Pune, 20 September 2025: The Railway Protection Force (RPF) in Pune, under its ongoing initiative “Operation Nanhe Farishtey”, rescued eight minor boys from Pune Railway Station on 19 September 2025.
The rescue operation was carried out jointly with Child Help Line (CHL) Pune and NGO Sathi during patrolling and awareness drives at platforms 1, 2 and 4. The minors were found wandering alone without guardians or relatives.
On inquiry, the children revealed that they had left home without informing their families. Some said they were influenced by friends to visit Pune, while others cited personal reasons.
The minors were taken into safe custody and provided medical check-ups and counseling. They were later produced before the Child Welfare Committee (CWC-1), Yerwada. As per CWC directions, seven were placed in Sathi Open Shelter Home and one in Shri Sai Seva Open Shelter Home until their parents arrive.
The RPF has urged parents to remain vigilant about their children’s safety and appealed to passengers to report any unattended minors at railway stations by contacting RPF or dialing Railway Helpline 139.
