Selection of Principal Controller of Defence Accounts (SC) Pune Women Cricket Team for Defence Accounts Department All India Cricket Competition
Pune, 7th September 2023: The highly anticipated All India Defence Accounts Department Cricket Tournament is scheduled to unfold in Lucknow from October 4th to October 8th 2023, under the distinguished aegis of the Defence Accounts Sports Control Board, New Delhi. This prestigious tournament will not only showcase the prowess of men’s cricket teams but also introduce a separate and equally enthralling competition for women’s cricket teams. The addition of women’s cricket is a significant stride in promoting gender equality and fostering talent within the Defence Accounts Department.
Five tenacious women’s cricket teams will vie for supremacy, representing various commands across the Defence Accounts Department. These teams comprise PCDA Chandigarh, PCDA (Navy) Mumbai, PCDA (O) Pune, PCDA (SWC) Jaipur and PCDA (SC) Pune. Each squad is poised to demonstrate exceptional skills and unwavering sportsmanship on the cricket field.
The arduous task of selecting the Principal Controller of Defence Accounts (SC) Pune Women Cricket Team, representing PCDA (SC) Pune, was impeccably executed under the sagacious guidance of Dr. Rajeev Chavan, IDAS, ndc, PCDA(SC) Pune. Dr. Chavan’s astute oversight and talent-spotting acumen were pivotal in assembling a formidable team.
The selection panel comprised of Shri. Vikram Rajapure, IDAS, DCDA, Shri. Swapnil Hanmane, IDAS, ACDA, Shri. Ravi Kumar, Senior Accounts Officer and Shri. Bhagwan Kakad, Senior Auditor played a pivotal role in identifying and recruiting the most deserving players to represent PCDA (SC) Pune.
Following a prolonged hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Defence Accounts Department eagerly anticipates this prestigious event. Dr. Rajeev Chavan, IDAS, ndc, PCDA (SC) Pune, expressed his unwavering confidence that this newly formed Defence Accounts Department Women’s Cricket Team will emerge victorious in the upcoming competition.
