Produced by Yash Sontakke and directed by Asim Inamdar, ‘Khat ka Anand’ is a period film based in the year 1983. The Film is set up in a village of Madhya Pradesh where a newly wedded bride of an Indian Soldier is heart wrenched when she had to bid adieu to her husband, Suraj. Meenal, longing for her husband, exchanges letters with him every day until he returns. But it is only a matter of time before she faces the bitter truth. Towards the hope and, amidst the truth, Meenal keeps her joy in Bliss of the letter.

An Individual filmmaker, Inamdar, says “We has set the story in an era when letters and rare landline calls were the only means of long-distance communication, as we wanted the audience to comprehend the personal anxieties of a soldier’s loved ones. I am grateful for such film festivals that have given a platform to all the budding artists to showcase their talent.”

“The post-production work took us a year-and-a-half, during which the pandemic struck and stopped all our plans to screen the film at global festivals. We have tried to incorporate the richness of Indian-classical music, periodic set-up, and a heart-warming topic into the visual experience. This project wouldn’t have been possible without the efforts of our young team. I am thankful to ZEE5 Global Content Festival for recognising our film”, said the producer of the film, Yash Sontakke

The film has been previously recognised in three categories including the Best film award, at the Madras Film Festival. Additionally, it has gained an official selection at prestigious film festivals like Kalakari Film Festival and Short Fundly Film Festival, among others.
