Swimming Pools To Open From 1st February, Cinema Hall To Take More Than 50% Audience; New Guidelines Released By Central Government

New Delhi, January 28, 2021: The Union Home Ministry issued new guidelines related to COVID-19 on Wednesday. According to new guidelines, cinema halls will run with more than 50% of audiences and swimming pools will be open for everyone. Also, citizens can travel within states or from one state to another without obtaining any permission. The new guidelines will come into effect from 1st February.

All activities except in the Containment Zone are permitted, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) must also be followed. Social, religious, sports, entertainment, educational, cultural, and religious gatherings have already been allowed to open in the hall with a maximum capacity of 50 percent. Up to 200 people will be allowed in closed places.

 

Guidelines state that the mobilization will be allowed as per the respective states’ SOP and union territories. Cinema halls and theaters can operate with more than 50% of capacity. For this, the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting will issue a revised SOP in consultation with the Ministry of Home Affairs.

 

The swimming pool was already allowed for players. Now, permission has been given to open it for everyone. In consultation with the Union Home Ministry, the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports will issue a revised standard operating procedure. Permission for a business exhibition has already been given. All types of exhibitions will now be allowed. For this, the Department of Commerce will issue SOP in consultation with the Union Ministry of Home Affairs.
