Temperature To Stay High In Coastal Areas Next Week Too; Pune Temperature To Remain Above Normal

Pune, 26 March 2021: As the heatwave is swapping the coastal areas of Konkan, Goa, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted that the temperature will continue to remain high in coastal areas till the first week of April.

Head of Weather Forecast Anupam Kashyapi said, “There are not many systems over India which means that there would be no measurable change in temperature. Western Disturbances is moving via North East and another one is from Telangana to Odisa. There might be a formation of a system on March 28. With the absence of any system, the chances of rain over the state are less.”

Heatwave in coastal areas

“A heatwave is in the coastal region as when the temperature is around 37 degree Celsius or above or has a variation over 4.5 degree Celsius to 6 degree Celsius. Currently, such temperature is prevailing in Konkan and Goa region”, he explained.

“While in other parts of the State like Vidarbha, Marathwada and Central Maharashtra the temperature is average and will remain for the next 48 hours. After that it might rise”, he added.

First week of April 1 to 8

The rainfall activity will be merged while Konkan and Goa will continue to record more than normal temperatures while the rest of the State will have an average temperature.

Pune district

For the Pune district and city, the temperature would be more than normal which will hover maximum of 36 degree Celsius to 38 degree Celsius while the minimum temperature would be 16 to 17 degree Celsius after that there might be a gradual rise.
