Pune, 5th January 2021: Higher and Technical Education Minister Uday Samant said that volunteers of Nehru Youth Centre and Rashtriya Seva Yojana are the foundation of nation-building.

Samant was presented as the chief guest on the occasion of inauguration of State Level Youth Parliament at Gokhale Institute of Politics and Economics, Pune on behalf of Nehru Youth Center, Pune and Rashtriya Seva Yojana, Regional Office, Pune.

“At the beginning of my social and political journey, we have done things through the Nehru Youth Center Youth Circle. I was involved in many activities of the centre. I feel rejoiced today while reminiscing about the work done,” he added.

Volunteers from the Nehru Youth Center and the National Service Scheme (NSS) have made significant contributions during the Corona period. The Minister said that the winners of this state-level competition will make the name of the state bright at the national level as well.

“India is a country of youth. If you make a serious effort in the field where you want to work, you will definitely succeed. Everything is possible if we make continuous efforts to stay positive”, said Samant.

In today’s state-level competition, students Pinak Mishra, Prateek Rameshrao Thackeray and Saloni Sanjay Trivedi bagged the first, second and third place respectively.

The National Youth Parliament will be held on 12 January 2021 in the Central Hall of Parliament. The first, second and third place winners from the state will get a chance to participate in this competition. Also, the first, second and third place winners at the national level will be awarded Rs 2 lakh, Rs 1.5 lakh and Rs 1 lakh respectively.

Pralhad Sonune, State Director, Nehru Youth Center Association; Karthikeyan, Pune District Youth Officer Yashwant Mankhedkar, National Youth Award recipient Vineet Malpure, Gokhale Institute of Politics and Economics Department Head Dr Jayanti Kajle and other officials were present. Program Assistant Siddharth Chavan and National Youth Volunteer Vaibhav Anil Alai coordinated the state-level Youth Parliament program.
