After 13 killed in wall collapse, public holiday declared in Mumbai, Thane

Mumbai, July 2, 2019 : A total of 13 persons died after a wall collapsed on hutments in Pimpripada area of Malad East due to heavy rainfall today.

Meanwhile, Maharashtra government has declared public holiday in three districts – Mumbai City, Mumbai Suburban and Thane district. The decision was taken as IMD has warned of very heavy rain today.

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has evacuated around 1000 people from Kranti Nagar, Kurla, to prevent any untoward incidents due to overflowing Mithi river.
