New Delhi, 2nd April 2023: Google has revealed new cost-cutting initiatives amid the layoff wave. According to Business Insider, the business has chosen to concentrate on important issues, including “prioritizing its work in AI.”

The memo, which was signed by Ruth Porat, Google’s chief financial officer, and Prabhakar Raghavan, the company search lead, on behalf of all PA and Functional leads, stated, “This work is particularly vital because of our recent growth, the challenging economic environment, and our incredible investment opportunities to drive technology forward- particularly in AI.”

According to reports, the business has also said that employees won’t be permitted to use cafes, micro kitchens, or other facilities.

These modifications will help to reduce food waste.

The memo added, “We’re adjusting our workplace offerings to the new hybrid workweek. The design of cafes, micro kitchens, and other amenities will take into account how and when they are used. Data will be used to inform decisions. For instance, if a cafe experiences considerably less business on particular days, we’ll close it and place more of an emphasis on the well-liked nearby options.”

Following Google’s announcement that it would cut 12000 jobs, this new cost-cutting strategy has been implemented.
