Film producer writes note on Facebook, commits suicide due to harassment by wife

Pune – Atul Tapkir, producer of Marathi film Dhol Tasha, was found dead at Hotel President off Karve Road on Sunday.

Police said that he committed suicide due to harassment by wife.

He had written extensively about the dispute on his Facebook wall around Saturday midnight. As many people started ‘liking’ he had again posted saying people should first read the post.

According to his post, he had suffered loss from the film. His father and sister were supporting him but his wife had expelled from him and she had been harassing him mentally.

Tapkir appealed the Chief Minister to do something as laws are in favor of women and hence police also take their side.
