Gaikwad holds IM Manish to draw at MPL 51st National Junior Open (Under-19) & 36th National Junior (Under-19) Girls Chess Championships 2022

Pune, 13th July 2022: Manas Gaikwad of Maharashtra held International master(IM) Anto Cristiano F Manish(2185)from Tamil Nadu. of the MPL 51st National Junior Open (Under-19) & 36th National Junior (Under-19) Girls Chess Championships 2022 being organized by Pune District Chess Circle in association with Maharashtra Chess Association Under the aegis of All India Chess Federation and sponsored by AICF’s Official National Championships Sponsor MPL, Amanora and h2e Systems and played at the PYC Hindu Gymkhana, Pune.

Manas(1708) held international master Anto Cristiano F Manish(2185)from Tamil Nadu.

The game was played in Sicilian defence and ended in 54. After white got a perpetual check.

In the Open section, Yash Baradia(2193) lost to lower-rated Piyush Kumar(1733).

In the Girls section L Jyothsna of Tamilnadu rating 1967 was held to a draw by Maharashtra’s Khairmode Dhanashree in Reti Opening in 31 moves.
