Gujarat: MI Helps Nab ISI Agent In Surat, Was In Contact With Pakistani Handlers
Surat, 13th December 2022: Based on the inputs provided by Military Intelligence of the Army’s Southern Command, an ISI agent named Deepak Kishor Bhai Salunkhe was arrested from Surat, Gujarat by the Crime Branch, Surat.
The arrested person has been identified as Deepak Kishor Bhai Salunkhe, (33), a resident of Yogeshwar Park Society, Bhuvneswari nagar, Surat City.
According to officials, he was acting as a resident agent for Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) and operating a financial module which was receiving /transferring money to serving as well as civilians in lieu of crucial information.
“The ISI agent was in touch with two Pakistan-based handlers Hamid and Kashif and was in the process of compromising sensitive information with these Pakistani handlers. To evade detection and facilitate his espionage activities, the ISI agent was running a shop named Sai Fashions at Surat”, an official said.
Surat Police has registered an FIR against the accused. He is being handed over to the Special Operations Group (SOG) for further investigation.
