Sadashiv Peth, 14th October 2025: The Vishrambaug Police have registered a case against 20 to 30 activists, including office bearers of the Maharashtra Navnirman Vidyarthi Sena (MNVS), for allegedly vandalizing the office of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) in Sadashiv Peth and assaulting an activist.

The case was registered based on a complaint filed by ABVP activist Sanjeevani Kasbe (20) at the Vishrambaug Police Station. According to the complaint, a group of MNVS activists entered the ABVP office around 3:30 pm on Monday (October 13), abused and pushed an ABVP activist named Sarthak Velapure, and then vandalized the premises.

The accused reportedly pasted pamphlets on the walls of the ABVP office before locking it from outside and leaving the spot. Following the incident, senior police officials, including Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 1) Hrishikesh Rawale, Senior Police Inspector Vijaymala Pawar, and Assistant Inspector Rajesh Usgaonkar, visited the scene. The investigation is being conducted by Police Sub-Inspector Suravase.

According to police sources, the clash appears to have stemmed from a dispute over pamphlet placement during the inauguration of MNVS branch at Wadia College on Bund Garden Road. After the disagreement at the college event, a group of Manvise members allegedly went to the ABVP office and resorted to vandalism and slogan-shouting.

The Vishrambaug Police have initiated legal action under relevant sections of the BNS for trespassing, assault, and property damage. Further investigation is underway to identify all individuals involved in the incident.
