Pune: Defective National Flag Received Under 'Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign', Advocate From The City Demands FIR Against PMC Officials

Pune 13th August 2023: The issue of defective national flags received at the Pune Municipal Corporation has again raised concerns as the officials have come across many flags received under the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign that were not as per the rules of Flag Code of India 2002. However, the citizens have now started demanding action against the PMC officials involved in distributing these flags among them.

 

 

An advocate from the city, Advocate Rafik Shaikh has written a letter to the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 3) demanding registration of FIR against a PMC official who distributed him a defective flag at the PMC’s ward office. Rafik has alleged that he was given the defective flag was not in line with rule of Flag Code of India 2002 by the PMC officials at Warje Karvenagar Ward office.

 

Shaikh in his letter to DCP has stated that the concerned officials of the PMC should be booked under relevant sections of The Prevention of Insults to National Honour Act 1971 and other relevant sections. He also demanded that the flag distribution across Maharashtra should be stopped.
