Pune: PCMC to Soon Launch Pensioner App, Over 5,000 Pensioners to Benefit
Pimpri, 26th October 2023: The Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) is set to introduce a PCMC Pensioner App to streamline the verification and prompt disbursement of pensions for its beneficiaries. In a remarkable move, the PCMC will soon unveil this innovative digital service, potentially the first of its kind among municipal corporations in the state. A live demonstration of the app was provided on Wednesday.
PCMC Commissioner Shekhar Singh highlighted the features of the PCMC Pensioner App, stating, “The PCMC Pensioner App is an innovative digital service designed exclusively for PCMC pensioners. It provides a convenient and efficient means for them to verify their existence and access their pensions through advanced technologies like face recognition and biometric authentication. This digital service will benefit 5,728 PCMC pensioners by enabling them to digitally submit their life certificates, eliminating the need for physical visits to government offices. It offers a hassle-free alternative.”
Pravin Jain, Chief Accounts and Finance Officer (CAFO) at PCMC, added, “To use the PCMC Pensioner App, pensioners can visit the corporation to complete the KYC process, ensuring that the pension reaches the rightful recipient.”
The primary aim of the PCMC Pensioner App is to simplify and expedite the verification process for pensioners, ensuring the prompt disbursement of their pensions. By replacing the traditional manual method of submitting life certificates with a digital solution, this service reduces paperwork, saves time, and minimizes inconvenience for pensioners.
Key Features of the PCMC Pensioner App:
1. Pensioner Mobile Login: The app offers mobile login with OTP authentication for pensioners.
2. Digital Life Certificates: Replacing manual submission, this digital solution reduces paperwork, saves time, and minimizes inconvenience for pensioners.
3. Location Information: The app utilizes Google latitude and longitude to verify the location of pensioners.
4. Biometric Authentication: Pensioners can use face recognition (with blinking of the eyes) and thumb biometric authentication for added security.
5. QR Code Validation: Life certificates include QR codes for validation.
6. Downloadable Certificates: Pensioners can download their life certificates in PDF format from their app login.
7. Annual Statements: Pensioners can access their annual statements through the app.
8. Notification by SMS: Pensioners receive notifications via SMS to stay informed about their pensions.
