Pimpri, 3rd November 2023: The Fire Department of the Municipal Corporation in Pimpri-Chinchwad has embarked on a fire prevention survey that covers a wide range of properties in the city, including industrial, commercial, educational, institutional, and medical facilities. To execute this initiative, the department is harnessing the support of women’s self-help groups, engaging them in the collection of crucial information.

Before commencing the survey, the women of these self-help groups have undergone training to ensure they are well-prepared for their roles. The objective of this survey is to gather essential data, such as the number of commercial properties within the city, property licenses, and the availability of fire-fighting systems. Moreover, the survey will include capturing images of the properties and information on various licenses, all of which will be documented using an application (app).

The information obtained through this comprehensive survey will be pivotal in identifying and implementing significant improvements related to property safety. The Fire Department of the Municipal Corporation has called upon municipal officials, employees, and women representatives from self-help groups to cooperate by providing essential details regarding properties, licenses, registration certificates, and more. Specifically, information related to food and drug licenses, municipal stock and sale, business licenses, electricity bills, building construction, business-related fire extinguishers, and objection certificates will be collected.

PCMC Additional Commissioner, Pradeep Jambhale-Patil, emphasized, “With the rapid increase in industrial and commercial properties within the city, this initiative is critical for the safety of citizens and the protection of commercial assets.”
