Pune: Two Officers Arrested For Demanding Bribe For Work At Anganwadi

Camp, 7th July 2022: Maharashtra Jeevan Pradhikaran’s two officers have been booked in a bribery case by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB). This bribery was for approving the Anganwadi budgetary, and the ACB took this action on the premises of the Maharashtra Jeevan Pradhikaran office in the Camp area.

Kiran Arun Shete (31), Deputy Engineer, and Parmeshwar Baba Helkar (49), Branch Engineer, are the accused officers. For the approval of the budget of the electric works and to fit a water filter machine in the Anganwadi at Shirgaon, the accused asked for a bribe of Rs 2500 from the contractor. The contractor complained about this to the ACB.

After the verification, the ACB set a trap and caught Shete and Helkar red-handed in the Maharashtra Jeevan Pradhikaran’s office.
