Teenage Girl Attempts to Escape To Pakistan To Meet Instagram Friend: Jaipur Authorities Foil The Plan
Jaipur, 29th July 2023: On Friday, airport authorities took action when they discovered a teenage girl from Rajasthan attempting to escape to Pakistan to meet an online friend she had connected with on Instagram. Being a minor without the necessary documents for international travel, she resorted to fabricating a story to persuade the airport officials. However, their suspicions were aroused, prompting them to hand her over to the police for further investigation.
Airport Station Officer Digpal Singh informed PTI that the girl, hailing from Sikar’s Shrimadhopur, lacked the required travel documents, and there were no direct flights from Jaipur to Pakistan.
As per India Today’s report, the girl had concocted a false tale, claiming to be a resident of Pakistan who had come to India to stay with her aunt. Allegedly, due to a strained relationship with her aunt, she expressed a desire to return to Pakistan.
Upon rigorous questioning, the girl finally admitted the truth during the interrogation. She confessed that her motive was to meet a friend from Pakistan who had also provided her with guidance on navigating airport security.
Subsequently, the girl was handed over to the police, and she acknowledged her intention to travel to Pakistan to meet her Instagram friend.
The authorities have informed the girl’s family, and arrangements are being made to return her to their care.
Interestingly, this incident comes shortly after another incident involving a 34-year-old married woman from Alwar, Rajasthan, who legitimately travelled to Pakistan using a valid passport and visa to meet a Facebook friend, with whom she later entered into marriage.
