Academic year to begin online from June 15, PCMC prepares e-learning courses for its schools

Pune, June 13, 2020: The Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) Education Department will be preparing e-learning courses for the students at its schools for the coming academic year.

 

Schools will not start from June 15 due to Covid-19 pandemic. But the yearly academic session will start from the same day. Text books will be distributed under Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan to the students studying in the classes from Std I to VIII.

 

A meeting of the headmasters of PCMC schools was arranged at Karmavir Bhaurao Patil School (Old D ward) by PCMC Education Department on June 11, 2020. Municipal Commissioner Shravan Hardikar, Additional Commissioner Santosh Patil, Administrative Officer Jyotsna Shinde, Assistant Administrative Officer Parag Mundhe, all the supervisors, experts in various subjects and techno savvy citizens were present for the meeting. PCMC Education Department will prepare the e-learning material under the guidance of the Municipal commissioner.

 

Various topics like preparation for the starting of the academic session, disinfection of classrooms, cleaning of school premises, cleaning of toilets, convincing the students about the importance of usage of masks and sanitiser were discussed in the meeting.

 

How to conduct online classes from June 15?

Distribution of midday meals to students will be carried out as per the guidance of the school management committee.

Online classrooms will start from June 15 with the help of techno savvy school teachers. Also, Women self-help group, school management committee member, alumni and volunteers have been appealed to support this initiative. E-learning material is prepared for all the mediums. It will be utilised to teach the students through community radio, local cable network and Doordarshan.
